Double Sided Marble Maze
prusaprinters
Here is a small marble maze with a simple design but the twist is that this toy has 2 levels of marble maze. Once you finish one, the marble falls into the hole and you flip around the toy to start the second level. How to print and assemble it:Phase 1: main bodyPrint each file without changing the printing orientation since we want a flat back-to-back contact between side A and side B (you can re-scale if you want a bigger marble for example).Place back to back level A and B and align them.Insert 4 pins into the smallest hole. Don't worry, there is only one orientation. Make sure they sit flush on both sides like shown on the pictures.Phase 2: playable as is but highly recommended.Grab a plastic sheet like the one below, and cut a piece matching the size of the bezel (at this step, you can use masking tape to secure the sheet under the bezel while cutting it).Align it on the main body you just assembled.Prick the plastic sheet above the holes in the corners of the main body (at this step, you can use double sided tape on outer wall of the maze to secure the sheet).Place and press the bezel on the body, it should snap-in correctly.Repeat steps 4 to 7 for the other side of the toy and you are good to go. Figure 1: Plastic sheet that I used. For the marble, don't exceed 3mm of diameter (there is 1mm of tolerance too but still). You can use a marble from a bearing like I did or re-size the maze to fit a bigger marble like a glass one.Let me know what you think and show us some pictures !Happy printing and have fun !
