A versatile addition to any rail enthusiast's collection: a double rail chair designed for compatibility with bar rails when building check rails.\nMy garden railway, constructed with meticulous care using 20mm by 10mm flat bar, has been a passion project for several years. I source my moulded plastic chairs from PNP Railways in the UK, which offer excellent quality, but only single-slot options are available. In need of check rails for specific sections on two curves and points, I decided to design custom double rail chairs that perfectly complement the existing PNP chairs.\nTwo variations were created: one featuring a 10mm gap between the rails and another with an 8mm gap, both optimized for use with No.4 stainless chipboard screws. A subtle yet crucial detail is included in their design - the positioning of slots at varying heights allows for effortless inner rail installation.\nA trial print run using PLA material with a high-density infill structure has proven successful thus far, and one part of my track conveniently spans across my gravel driveway. Its daily exposure to passing vehicles has yet to yield any adverse effects, even after repeated usage from my trusty 4x4 pickup.
