Double motor extruder
thingiverse
This is my approach to solving the bowden extruder's poor grip problem. Decided to link two NEMA 17 motors together on a single driver. (I raised the voltage on the driver to 1.2V - possibly I'll need a better adjustment.) Using standard MK7/MK8 grip gears (12mm diameter) and U-shaped bearings (13 mm diameter, 4mm bore, 4 mm width). The U-shaped bearing is held in place by an M4 screw. I'm using three 6mm rods to align the tensioner. I've threaded the rods and screwed them into the plastic. You can probably use regular M6 screws for this. With three springs inside, it's difficult to open the extruder by hand, so I jam a screwdriver in to install the filament.
