Double Light switch cover

This is a custom replacement for a double light switch cover that couldn't be found in stores. The original Double light switch features a push button on the right and a pole switch with a slide dimmer on the left. I disliked the stock design, so I designed a one-of-a-kind version using SketchUp, the STL extension, Matter control, and our school's Robo 3D R1+ with Hatchback filament. The picture shows the progression from original part to prototype to first try to final copy, all visible in the sequence from left to right. This was a class project where students learned about the design process. Standards CCSS Overview and Background 3D Printing Replacement Part Students used measurements from an original part to replicate, customize, and/or optimize the original. This project involved using online tools like Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Slides, Screencastify, My.sketchup.com, Thingiverse, and Matter control. Students measured, drew, printed, optimized, re-printed, and posted their work on Thingiverse.
