This is a double-height vented 3.5" drive face plate, designed for the old Antec SX1000II SOHO File Server Tower Computer Case but may fit in other cases as well. The assumption is that floppy drives are no longer needed and maybe some hard drives are installed in those drive bays. The vent holes are to allow airflow over internal hard drives (and may be vacuumed if dust accumulates).
