Double-headed Eagle Thumb Ring
cults3d
Double-Headed Eagle Thumb Ring Designed in ZBrush for Metal Casting and Metal 3D Printing. Most rings are modeled with a US size of 8, which is equivalent to a diameter of approximately 18.14mm, ensuring that scaling up will not result in any issues with wall thickness, especially when using most metal 3D printing technologies. To scale up a ring to fit your finger size, I recommend using Meshmixer, a free software from Autodesk. Import the ring and select Analysis/Measure from the left menu. Choose Type: edge to edge from the sub-menu, Direction: outward (n), and Snapping mode: Snap to Vertices. Click on the inner diameter of the ring, and you will see a red line with a reading on the right side. To scale up, go to the Edit menu/Transform and increase any size value, ensuring Uniform Scaling is checked. Repeat the measuring process until you achieve your correct finger size. Once done, export the model as STL Binary Format, which is recommended. All published models are sold for personal use only; if you wish to purchase a model for commercial use, please contact me. If you would like a custom ring, jewelry item, or any other model, I invite you to get in touch with me. To achieve a similar polish/finish as the rendered ring image (with dark cavity), print the ring using vintage/antique silver, available now from i.materialise. Alternatively, there are other methods to create this effect at home if printed in silver; search YouTube for "how to oxidize silver at home" for more information.
