Human: Filament Sensor based on things [Craftbot filament sensor](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2537054) and [Filament sensor](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2563347). Credits go to them for the inspiration ! First off, I've been lucky so far with no tangle issues using good quality spools of filament. Keeping an eye on the remaining spool is all it takes. However, we're often distracted at this critical moment. Last week, a surprise problem arose... The filament wasn't perfectly round in some areas of the spool, which I noticed was oval shaped, measuring 1.75 x 2.02mm in width. This resulted in an incomplete print and the filament getting stuck on the PTFE tube (the tube that connects the spool to the direct extruder). [Craftbot filament sensor](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2537054) showed me the way, but I had a different end stop sensor in stock - [Example](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/MYLB-10-Pcs-AC-125V-1A-SPDT-1NO-1NC-Momentary-Long-Hinge-Lever-Micro-Switch/32745688469.html). [Filament sensor](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2563347) gave me the starting point. I designed the second part to fit onto the first and soldered two endstops in sequence - one normally closed (at the bottom) and the other normally open (at the top). Now I have an end filament sensor and a tangle filament sensor, which can also detect stuck filament anywhere else! All it takes is wiring it up to a raspberry or other board and configuring the software to pause printing when issues arise. I use Octoprint with the "Filament sensor reloaded" plugin on GPIO24 and GND.
