Double European Power Socket for Kitchen or Workbench
thingiverse
I reside in a house constructed from stone and concrete, but I'm not fond of the power outlet system used here. The sockets are installed in a hole that was crudely drilled into the wall by a subpar builder, which causes them to frequently work loose. To resolve this issue during my kitchen renovation, I opted for standard wall-mounted outlets and created my own mounting system. These modern Italian-made Aiberti power outlets feature a sleek gold-colored border and can be purchased for approximately 5 Euros in this region. This innovative unit is designed to hold two European-standard power sockets and is intended for installation at the rear of a kitchen counter or workbench against the wall, thereby avoiding the need to create large holes in stone or concrete walls. A spacious recess is provided at the back to allow power cables to rise up into the box from beneath. To assemble this unit, you'll first need to purchase two standard European power sockets and remove the hook clips that are meant for securing them in a concrete wall. Next, secure the box to the kitchen counter using wood screws through the bottom two holes. Then, run the wires and connect the sockets using a loop from one to the other. Finally, insert the socket face and attach the rear part of the unit containing the wires. With these simple steps completed, you'll no longer have to worry about pulling the outlet out of the wall when removing the plug.
