Double Edge Safety Razor Backshaver

Double Edge Safety Razor Backshaver

This versatile double edge safety razor attachment gives you the extra reach you need to tackle that pesky patch of hair on your back all by yourself, using a classic 5 cent blade. Designed to fit most three-piece DE safety razors, simply thread the posts through the holes in the mounting plate on the backshaver head right before screwing the razor handle into place. The razor is held at just the right angle for shaving as long as the heel of the head rests flat against your back. The Backshaver comes in three pieces that need to be glued together. The connecting pieces may require a little filing to get a proper fit. An optional Test Fit Mounting Plate can be printed out first, allowing you to see if everything lines up with your razor before printing the entire head. This design has been thoroughly tested and works perfectly with Merkur 23C and several Gillette Tech razors. However, Tech razors do not have side posts, so make sure the handle is securely fastened enough to prevent the razor from rotating. Unfortunately, my Edwin Jagger did not have sufficient thread protrusion for the handle. I'm unsure of a solution with the current design unless the mounting plate can be thinned down slightly without compromising structural integrity or counter-boring the center hole to accommodate the handle.
