Double Deck Box
thingiverse
Back at it again, this time with a double-commander-deck-japanese-joinery-box - and that name says it all. The basic design draws inspiration from the 箱隠し継ぎ (Hako-kakushi-tsugi), according to @thejoinery_jp on Twitter. I wanted to push myself to create a symmetrical, interlocking geometric shape design, so I made a birthday present for my friend who's into Magic: The Gathering. The box is designed for a 101-card deck with thin card sleeves in the Commander format. It could probably hold more cards, and it can also fit standard cardboard deck boxes. However, I don't guarantee that this box will work for every combination of cards and sleeves. Some commander decks have thicker sleeves, which may not fit. The peg is a friction fit, but repeated use might wear it down, and different printers may get varying results. To adjust the fit, you can scale up or down slightly. I've included the SketchUp file used to design the box - feel free to tweak it as needed. If you create a new version that can hold larger cards or sleeves, please let me know so we can include it here.
