Double ceiling hook

Double ceiling hook

I wanted to hang some extension cords from the ceiling of my hall closet, but I didn't like any of the commercial offerings or existing 3D designs, most of which seem optimized for hanging plants and stuff. I needed a much larger hook opening, to hold a whole bundle of cord.

This prints sideways, which means it needs a bit of support material for the curves that rest against the bed. Those curves are essential for not cutting into the cord, though.

It has clearance holes to pass a screwdriver, and I secured mine to the ceiling with 3-inch woodscrews through the plaster and straight into a joist. It'svery strong -- I didn't actually try to hang my body weight from it, but I don't hesitate to grab it for stability when I'm climbing around in there.

If I print any more of these, I think I'll add more fillet or webbing where the spine meets the ceiling base. Happy to do that if you'd find it useful; leave a comment!

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 3 Pro

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.2mm

Infill:

30%

Filament: inland PLA+ any

Notes:

I had good results with lots of shells (4 or 5 I think) and not a ton of infill, 20-30% seems fine.

Category: Organization
