This extruder features 4x 624zz bearings, two 4mm bolts, and a Nema 17 motor along with your preferred hotend. Wheel machining in the lathe required trial and error but was successful on the second attempt; a #10-32 tap is recommended for use with 1.75 mm filament. The extruder was simply strapped to an aluminum plate, and the hobbing tool proved weak and needed modification after each use. After exhaustively using a full 5 lb spool of ABS without issue, this design is shared with hopes to inspire new extruder innovations, designed in Alibre and OpenSCAD; all files are included in the linked zip file. The creator will be releasing a new printer model soon, so feel free to ask any questions related to this design.
