The monarch of Elze's throne room echoed with the Ecclesiast-King's inner turmoil - a burning thirst for forbidden pain that threatened to upend the very foundations of his kingdom. While lesser leaders might be cautioned against such desires, they seemed almost necessary in one of the King's stature, whose reputation hung precariously in the balance. In desperation, he turned to the dungeons below, where demonologists toiled tirelessly, promising freedom to any who could summon a personal succubus of torment and bind it to his will. The creature that arrived, named Akasha, brought with her an exquisite brand of suffering that the King came to crave - so much so that he named her his Secret Queen and devoted himself wholeheartedly to her ingenious torments, eventually abandoning all responsibilities in pursuit of the painful pleasures she alone could provide. As Queen of Pain, she was bound by ancient runes to keep him alive, even as she pushed him to the very limits of endurance. In the end, however, the King's neglect of his duties sparked an uprising that swept him from power - and at the moment of his downfall, Akasha was unleashed upon the world, freed to wreak havoc on any who dared to cross her path.
