The Do 335 Pfeil ("Arrow") is a heavy fighter aircraft engineered by Dornier for service during World War II. Its dual-seat trainer version earns the name Ameisenbär, German for "anteater." Performance records of the Pfeil showcase an exceptional climb due to its innovative push-pull design, as well as greatly reduced drag levels resulting from the side-by-side placement of engines, enhancing aerodynamics. Unfortunately, due to delays in obtaining new engine deliveries from manufacturers, production rates slowed down sharply just before war concluded, limiting output and operational availability for Luftwaffe units to mere handfuls prior to Allied forces' ultimate triumph.
