Dornier Do-26 simplified cnc/laser
thingiverse
This simplified model of the classic float plane was originally inspired by the Lasercut mini F16, although its design is noticeably more complex.\nMy build was executed on a desktop CNC machine provided by Stepcraft from 6 mm beech plywood using a spiral-toothed 1.2 mm flute. Once glued together and carefully sanded, it's an excellent toy for children of various ages.\nA laser cutter might serve as a suitable alternative tool to create smaller versions.\nVisit https://www.zenziwerken.de/en/Spielsachen/Flugzeugmodelle for more designs.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter: \n Stepcraft 420 (Version 1)\n \n Rafts: \n They Don't Matter\n \n Supports: \n Yes, Definitely\n \n Resolution: \n The Information is Not Available\n \n Infill: \n We Can't Provide That Info\n \n Notes: \n Bear in Mind that the Obj-file is primarily used for validating the construction and viewing it in a browser.\nHow I Designed This\nI searched 3-view drawings of this plane to create its outlines. Then, I drew the images in Illustrator and carved out the main features. The slots were determined through trial and error. Before building the plane, I conducted a 3D validation in SketchUp. Next, I nested the parts as close as possible for production on a CNC router.
