Human: I had planned bilateral carpal tunnel surgery and wanted to install lever style doorknobs, so I crafted these custom levers to fit the existing doorknobs at my home. My surgery was performed successfully on October 22nd, 2015 and these handy levers really helped during my recovery in the first few days. The 47mm lever features a gentle taper to perfectly match "tulip" style knobs while the 51mm lever boasts a square profile ideal for flat style knobs - see pictures of my knobs for clarity. I added a small lip on the inner edge of the hole to ensure the lever remains precisely positioned on the knob, simply place the lever with the lip facing outward. I've also updated the levers so the screw is placed on top when installed on left-hinged doors, unlike in my previous pictures where it was upside-down. Printing Details Raft: None Supports: None Resolution: 0.25mm or 0.30mm Infill: 25% Assembly and Installation I used a 1" long #8 x 32 machine screw, washer, and nut to secure the lever to the knob. The hex-hole holds the nut in place, allowing you to install it using only a screwdriver. Since I didn't require adhesive on my knobs, you may need some if the levers don't fit securely on your doors. To ensure proper installation, attach the lever to the knob with the lip facing away from the door and then position it in a way that suits the intended user's preference - up, down, or towards/away from the hinges. Designing the Levers I designed these custom levers using Tinkercad software.
