Door stop with Catch

Door stop with Catch

thingiverse

I came up with an innovative design for a doorstop that not only holds doors open but also releases them with a simple foot lever, making it incredibly convenient. From concept to creation, my idea took shape over a span of 10 hours and three prototypes, each one helping me refine the design until I got it just right. To add tension to the latch, I cleverly used a 3D printer bed spring, which proved to be an excellent choice for maintaining the perfect amount of resistance. In another version, I experimented with using an M5 bolt, but I ultimately decided that M5 button screws looked better and opted for them instead, accompanied by a couple of brass inserts for added durability. To assemble this doorstop, you'll need two flat-head screws that are at least 1.5 inches long; to make installation easier, I recommend pre-drilling the holes before tightening everything in place.
