My wife and I purchased an LG LRM1260SW microwave oven back in June of 2010, and within just a couple of years, the plastic hook tabs of the door opener button snapped off. Ever since then, we had to secure the button in place with an unsightly piece of duct tape. That is, until today, when I finally designed and 3D-printed a brand new button. Our brand new button was printed using grey PLA filament, unlike the polished-chrome electroplated plastic original. Not as flashy looking as the original, but just as functional as it was before it broke apart. Hopefully, this 3D-printed replacement will last much longer than the original button (and hopefully for the remainder of the appliance's useful life). But if not, I can print another replacement in about two and a half hours.
