I finally got it right on this third try. I'm confident that I've got it down pat now. The fit on the post is snug, which is exactly what I was going for. If you purchased your machine from Amazon, be sure to check out the parts box because it comes with longer screws. Swap out those upper left screws for the longer ones and you'll have no problem mounting the latch. With this setup, everything works remarkably well. To complete the assembly, make sure to insert a flat washer between the screw head and the latch for added stability.
