Door Latch Extender
thingiverse
This is a door latch extender that allows you to open doors but not let them fully swing open. The purpose of this device could be to keep pets out of certain areas, such as laundry rooms where cat litter boxes are located. Perhaps you have a dog that likes to eat from the litter box and you want to prevent it from getting into the room while still allowing your cat to come and go freely. There are two versions available: Split and No Split. Since my printer is quite small, I had to create the model in two separate pieces. If you're like most people, you can simply download the "No Split" STL file and be done with it. However, if you need more flexibility, you can print the "Split" version. I've added two holes at the end of each piece, allowing you to adjust the opening width to suit your needs. Print Settings: Printer: Micro M3D Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.25mm Infill: 100% Notes: I used gray ABS on my Micro M3D printer with a heated bed. The extender is 150mm long. Post-Printing: If you're using the split model, you can use Acetone to bond the two pieces of ABS together. How I Designed This I created this design using OnShape, and it's publicly available in their database. Simply search for "Door Latch Extender" to find it.
