I'm currently working with a house that features an impressive collection of beautiful door knobs. These door knobs initially presented significant problems as they consistently proved difficult to center. Adding to these difficulties, the knobs would loosen over time due to kids leaning against them while they're turned, which in turn caused them to oscillate upwards and downwards continuously. This wobbling had devastating effects on my house's door paint job. Since I've already learned that repainting is always a challenge due to the presence of kids, it was disheartening to witness my door paint suffer this kind of damage once again. In an effort to resolve these issues after carefully reapplying fresh coats of paint to the doors, I designed specialized inserts that not only centered the knobs but also brought an end to their continuous motion. With the installation of six such inserts in various parts of my home now complete, I firmly believe they are incredibly useful solutions. They have earned a special place alongside another innovative solution I highly value - shims.
