Door jamb of Senwosret 1
myminifactory
Ancient limestone fragments from a temple dedicated to the mighty god Min were unearthed, and among them was a door jamb piece dating back to the reigns of Pharaohs Amenemhat 1 and Senwosret 1, who ruled Egypt around 1985-1920 BC in Koptos. The inscription on this remarkable relic tells the story of construction work overseen by 'The Horus Ankhmesut, the Son of Re, Senwosret, cherished by Min of Koptos'.
