thingiverse
A simple door hinge that opens to at most 180 degrees rotation. Dimensions for given file are: 45mm x 34mm x 5mm hingeA/B with 4mm dowel and 4mm screw holes. Autodesk Inventor IPT file is parameterizable via the design table. There's an additional 0.2mm added to the holes so that the screw and dowel slide in easily. Likewise, for the hinge joint, an additional 0.4 mm clearance has been added to each inside edge of hingeA.
Instructions
Designed in Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013 64bit (educational edition). Use the design table in Hinge.ipt and Dowel.ipt to parameterize and adjust dimensions using Autodesk Inventor. I used an iron rod of the correct diameter as the dowel - cut to size with a hack saw and grind smooth at the ends. The part itself was 3d printed at 100% infill for structural strength using ABS on a Makerbot Replicator 2X printer - heated build platform was at 120C and the extruder temperature at 230C and layer height at 0.20mm.
