Old houses boast old door handles and mounting plates, and mine happen to be made of bakelite. When I needed replacement parts, I found them either extremely difficult to obtain or outrageously expensive. In my case, it was much simpler to design and print them myself. Printed in ABS black, the new parts are virtually indistinguishable from their bakelite counterparts. Of course, they must fit the door handles perfectly, but fortunately, the dimensions and sizes are quite standard. I designed the replacement plates to be an exact match for the original bakelite door handle plates.
