Door Frame Anchor for IKEA Patrull Safety Gate

Door Frame Anchor for IKEA Patrull Safety Gate

We've been using this gate for years and the main issue with its design is that it's unstable when open, easily becoming unhinged. This modification keeps the upper support in place while the gate is open, providing better stability as well. Although we've experienced a few accidents due to climbing kids, of course. You'll need to compromise on your door frame finish, but since the gate will likely be used for several years, it might be worth the small effort of patching and repainting when it's no longer needed. I printed this modification in polycarbonate (Polymaker PC-Max), which resulted in some severe warping, yet an incredibly strong material. PETG would have been my second choice, possibly not PLA for this project. ### Non-printable parts ### Three small wood screws are required.
