Second modeling exercise using splines yields impressive results, leaving me wondering how I managed without them all along. Work remains ongoing. UPDATE: Recent progress includes successfully unwrapping the model, albeit a basic implementation that should suffice for now. Experimenting with texture mapping in Substance Designer adds another layer of depth to this project.
