Wat?Doobieflashers are small devices you can place on you Qi charger if you are not charging your phone. They use the energy transmitted from the Qi charger to flash two 5mm LEDs. They only contain a small copper coil - no batteries are needed. Since inductive charging devices become more and more common you can add more and more blinkenlights to the world. How?Even when there are no devices near a Qi charger, they still send small bursts of power to sense for appliances that might need charging. Doobieflashers contain a copper coil that picks up that energy and uses it to flash two LEDs. Shopping ListYou will need2 LEDs (I tried red, blue, green, yellow, white, they all look nice)enameled copper wire, 0,35 mm diameter or thereabout will be finesoldering iron Assembly InstructionsStep 1 and 2: Use the provided winding tool to make a copper wire coil. Make the coil 10 turns and check the photos for a suggestion on how to tie copper wire so that it is easy to assemble.Step 3: Clip the copper wire to length, you will need a few cm for soldering later.Step 4: Mount two LEDs on the top part. Push them through the holes with opposing polarity, meaning that the long legs of the LED will be on opposing sides of the small separator. Check the photo.Step 5: Solder the long leg of one LED to the short leg of the other LED. Repeat on the other side of the separator. Step 6: Solder the copper wire from the coil to the soldering points of the LEDs.Step 7: Apply small drops of glue to the outer surface inside the bottom part, push the top part in for one minute until the glue has settled - and you are done.Now if you bring your Doobieflasher near a Qi inductive charger the LEDs will start to flash because of the Qi sensing signal.
