Donation Jar Lid
thingiverse
I received a request for a custom-made lid that would prevent donations from being removed, essentially creating a one-way barrier against curious fingers. To address this need, I designed a lid that fits snugly over a large glass cookie jar with a 5.59-inch outer diameter and 142mm opening. The top rim of the glass is approximately 1/4 inch thick. The design consists of two identical halves that bolt together using 1/4 inch bolts and 7/16 friction nuts, requiring a tool to open the lid. To enhance the appearance, I printed the words "Thanks !" with support for a clean finish on top. A sharpie pen was used to highlight the raised text. Additionally, two arrows were incorporated to cover the small openings on either side of the donation slot, providing extra stability and strength.
