Don Lemon

Don Lemon is always ready to lend a hand in making the perfect lemon juice for your favorite appetizer or culinary creation. My humorous side took over as soon as I spotted the sombrero-inspired citrus press emerging from the 3D printer, destined to replace the lid of a popular jar of jam, known for its quality and taste. Next time you have breakfast, be sure to save that empty jar for this creative project. The basic idea was to repurpose glass jars, giving them a new life by preventing waste. The competition's purpose is to demonstrate how 3D printing can improve daily life and encourage responsible consumption. I immediately had the vision of using glass jars in a unique way, making them more useful than ever. Then I developed the character side, adding arms like a cross, shoes, and sand to create a fun and personalized diorama. The cactus was a natural fit for holding the lemon. Only one part needs to be printed with food-grade filament (I used orange PETG from Dailyfil). The sand can also be printed using this type of filament as a small citrus cutting board. Each maker can express their creativity by choosing their own color palette for the diorama. Once the parts are printed, simply glue on the arms and shoes with a hot glue gun. I recommend using the "sand" part as a template to keep the shoes in place while the glue cools. Screw Don Lemon's Sombrero onto the jar like a lid, clockwise! I chose my filament colors for their vibrant tone, matching the yellow of the sand and green of the lemon (inspired by festive cocktails). Have fun with this creative project!
