Domitia Longina

Domitia Longina was born sometime between AD 53 and 55 and lived until her death, believed to be around AD 126-130. She was the Roman empress and wife of Emperor Domitian. Her father was Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo, a general and consul who commanded Roman legions in Asia Minor. She married Lucius Aelius Lamia Plautius Aelianus first, but they divorced to marry Domitian in AD 71. Their only son died young, causing tension between Domitia and her husband in AD 83. When Domitian became Emperor in AD 81, Domitia became empress. She remained in this position until his assassination in AD 96.
