UPDATE 22/04/16 added more build photos and removed unused connectors from the encoder PCB. Assembly designs are being updated to reflect changes in photos, cable access, and tolerances are being improved for V2.0. UPDATE 21/04/16 electronics have arrived, all wired up and works perfectly using Joytokey to convert USB controller commands to keyboard shortcuts. Software is very easy to use and works flawlessly with Windows 32/64 bit, may work with other operating systems but not checked yet. Simply get your favorite CAD programs list of keyboard shortcuts and edit the inputs accordingly. Very happy and all for 20 GBP awesome. Usage video uploaded at https://youtu.be/NM2MjqOmLrE Parts list as follows: 30MM-Cassette-Push-Button, eBay number (261553314558) Zero Delay USB Encoder, eBay number (261485238912) Joytokey, free software, http://joytokey.net/en/download V2.0 coming soon, stay tuned. UPDATE 21/04/16 added spacemouse RH holder and some build photos. Parts were printed at 0.2mm layer height on my Da Vinci 1.0 with original firmware (mk8 extruder). Upon use the device is very comfortable and button placement pretty much spot-on. Still waiting for electronics to arrive. This is a holder for the 3Dconnexion spacemouse. I recently acquired a spacemouse and am very impressed with it so far. However, I still find myself having to use keyboard commands due to the lack of buttons on the spacemouse. This is where domino comes into play, the 6 arcade buttons can be programmed to replace the keyboard (still waiting for parts to arrive for testing). I shall provide more information and a full parts list once everything has been wired up and tested. The parts are very inexpensive; you can build and print the whole add-on for less than 20 GBP. All of the electronics are contained in the wrist rest support. This is a left-handed design, four fingers are used and your thumb presses the other two buttons. I have made this design 3D printing friendly, so you can print without supports. The files are subject to change but I thought I would get my idea out there while waiting for the electrical bits and pieces to arrive. With regards to printing, I always use ABS and scale the size to 102% to account for shrinkage. Lastly, if you do copy any of my designs, please be respectful and give acknowledgement to the original creator.
