Dominion Rod

The Dominion Rod from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess!

My remix uses a 3/8" (9.5mm) diameter aluminum rod to reinforce the center of it and give it some extra weight and make it feel like a real rod. This can be bought at your local metal shop or home improvement store for less than $10. It also cuts down print time significantly on the shaft pieces. I strongly recommend using PETG! It's cheap, doesn't warp (ABS would be bad for this due to dimensional tolerances), is easy to print, and pretty durable, especially if you want to take this to a convention, but I'm not your Dad. Go bonkers and use Carbon Fiber or some other exotic filament if you want! Just make sure to share pics lol.

If the metal rod does not fit a certain part, try lightly sanding down the metal rod evenly with a dremel. These plastic parts have very small tolerances so print defects and/or the metal rod may cause issues that are hard to see.

If you do not want this extra weight, you can use the files I remixed from, which are made to be screwed together instead of inserted into a metal rod.

The parts are alphabetized from bottom-to-top. B and C can be printed together with the BC model to save on glue, or separately if you want. The same can be done with F and G. H is entirely optional to print, but I'm leaving it in as an option for those like me with OCD.

Use tweezers to help superglue H to G. The rest can be glued together using superglue with the metal rod acting as an alignment guide. Make sure to move the metal rod to prevent the glue from bonding to it!

GCODE files are provided if you use PETG on a MINI+ printer. All 3MF files are ready to print via PrusaSlicer!

I printed all of this in Prusament PETG Signal White, then sanded, and used acrylic paints to finish it. Print at 0.15mm for best looking results!

NOTICE! Unfortunately, this prop cannot infuse ancient statues with life!

Remixed from ahudsoncms over on thingiverse:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4976113

This is my first model post so hope I did everything right. Feedback is welcome!
