This is a revamped version of gmclean's original concept. It was slightly too concise, so I extended its reach. Additionally, I produced two separate versions - one for the left hand and another for the right hand. (It's puzzling that the OpenSCAD preview doesn't display correctly, but rest assured it will function as intended when opened directly from the file.)
