This lamp bears an uncanny resemblance to Twistlamp0, yet I employed a vastly different approach when defining its geometry, prompting me to rechristen it Domelight1. To achieve the desired visual effect, I chose to print this iteration using clear PLA and incorporated a color-changing LED within its structure. The accompanying photo showcases the LED adjacent to the lamp, while a simple online search for "LED puck light" yields an abundance of suitable options. Notably, this design features a small aperture at its base, allowing for the seamless integration of a power cord if one opts for a wall-powered LED. The accompanying photographs demonstrate the light's varying color phases. For a more immersive experience, I have included a 42-second video showcasing the dynamic color shifts: https://youtu.be/WTtG61yAouQ Like Twistlamp0, Domelight1 stands at an impressive height of 304 mm, posing a significant challenge for printing due to its tall stature. As the printer navigates the uppermost regions, even minor hotend drag can exert considerable sideways torque, potentially causing the part to topple over. To mitigate this risk, I exercised caution by manually holding onto the part during the final 40 mm of printing. Moving forward, my next design will prioritize a more compact size.
