Introducing an improved version of Domekit's 3D printable geodesic connector system, featuring refined central hubs with rounded edges and reduced material usage. The strut caps are shorter yet more durable, incorporating a built-in thumbscrew with captive nut for easy assembly. Simply slide the strut into the shaft and turn the screw to assemble the structure. For details, visit http://domekit.cc. The connector system includes two types of hubs - 5-way and 6-way, both compatible with a single type of strutcap that snaps into the sockets. A completed connector requires all sockets to be filled with strutcaps for proper tension. Start by printing a 6-way hub and six strutcaps. Snap all 'caps into the hub; the last one may require force. Ensure a tight fit while maintaining mobility. Adjustments can be made using ReplicatorG, Skeinforge settings or tweaking the expansion_factor variable in the hub.scad file. Strutcaps have an M3 hole and are designed to work with 3/8"/10mm struts. A 2V icosahedron requires 26 connectors (20 x 6-way, 6 x 5-way), while a 3V 5/9 structure needs 61 connectors (55 x 6-way, 6 x 5-way). The bottom 4-way connections on a 2V icosahedron use folded strut caps for a flat base, reducing the number of parts needed.
