Domed ceiling, Chinese House at Sanssouci Park
sketchfab
The German House is a serene oasis nestled within Sanssouci Park in Potsdam, just outside Berlin's bustling city limits. Frederick the Great commissioned its construction, strategically situating it about 700 meters away from his majestic Sanssouci Summer Palace, to create a stunning centerpiece for his meticulously curated flower and vegetable garden. Leading landscape architect Johann Gottfried Büring skillfully designed the pavilion between 1755 and 1764 in the fashionable Chinoiserie style, blending ornate rococo elements with distinct Chinese architectural features.
