The Intersection of Japanese Design and High-Performance Cars is Now Reality, with PBR and Smooth Models Ready for Testing. In 1976, Minoru Hayashi first conceived the idea of building a compact supercar capable of competing in the prestigious 24-hour Le Mans race. The project was later acquired by Dome Co. Ltd, but it failed to meet the necessary requirements to be homologated as a road-legal vehicle in Japan. However, the project gained traction with numerous toy manufacturers in the USA partnering with the company to produce miniature versions of the model (the Dome Zero car being the transformation vessel for Rodimus Prime, an alternate identity for Optimus).
