The Mas Neuf domain, developed and maintained by the Hérault department, bears a profound mark of human activity that spans millennia. Here, limestone reigns supreme, shaping landscapes and serving as building material for stone-built mas and walls. On a rocky outcropping offering an exceptional panorama, archaeological remains from a Chalcolithic habitat dating back to 2200 BC, the period when copper metallurgy emerged, are unveiled after several excavation campaigns. Interpretive panels highlight various periods of occupation by herding-farming communities.
