Dom Tower - Utrecht

The Dom Tower (Cathedral Tower) of Utrecht soars above the Netherlands as its tallest church tower, measuring 112.5 meters or 368 feet high, and proudly displaying its Gothic architectural style that's synonymous with the city's identity. Constructed between 1321 and 1382 under John of Hainaut's design, this iconic tower was once part of the Cathedral of Saint Martin in Utrecht, also known as Dom Church. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, the cathedral itself remained unfinished, but its grandeur endured even after the nave collapsed in 1674, transforming the Dom Tower into a standalone monument. Standing on the very spot where Utrecht's origins date back approximately 2,000 years ago, this magnificent structure serves as a testament to the city's rich history.
