Individuals require a constant flow of oxygen to sustain life, which is typically obtained through breathing. Oxygen enters the body through the mouth or nose and passes through the trachea into the lungs. The air then moves down the bronchi, which branch off into smaller tubes called bronchioles. These bronchioles end in tiny sacs called alveoli, where oxygen diffuses into the bloodstream.
