Dolphins Thumb Ring designed in Maya and ZBrush for metal casting and 3D printing. Most rings are modeled with a US size = 8 (Diameter = 18.14mm approx.), ensuring that scaling up won't cause wall thickness issues, especially when using most metal 3D printing techniques. To scale up a ring to fit your finger size, use Meshmixer, a free software from Autodesk. Import the ring and select Analysis/Measure from the left menu. Choose Type: edge to edge and Direction: outward (n) from the sub-menu, then Snapping mode: Snap to Vertices. Click on the inner diameter of the ring and get a red line with a reading on the right side. To scale up, go to Edit menu/Transform and increase any size value, checking Uniform Scaling first. Repeat the measuring process until you achieve your correct finger size. Once done, export the model as STL Binary Format, which is highly recommended. For a ring with a similar polish/finish as in the rendered image (with dark cavity), print the ring with vintage/antique silver. Currently, this material is only available from i.materialise.
