This is a custom-made insert for a canvas dog waste bag roll carrier. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer Model: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 10% diamond infill (optimized for speed) Post-Printing The square hole on the second piece is designed to be slightly smaller than the square end of the axle, ensuring a tight friction fit when assembled. This design has proven effective in daily use for several weeks, but if it wears out and loosens over time, we will redesign the spindle to include a detent feature that clicks into place. We used MakerBot "True White" PLA to print this item. Design Details I created this 3D model using Autodesk 123DDesign. Custom Section The hook-and-loop strap on the canvas bags that attach to a walking leash is lightweight, strong and very convenient. However, when pulling out a bag through the slot in the side of the carrier, it can sometimes jam against the inside of the bag. This custom insert prevents the roll from jamming. The spindle is printed in two parts: one part with the axle and another part that fits onto the open end. The spindle is designed to fit snugly into the canvas carrier. Once the roll is installed on the spindle, we've found it's easiest to install by placing one end inside the carrier and then pressing on the other side of the spindle to stretch the carrier, allowing the other side of the spindle to slip into place.
