Dog Waste Bag Holder Kit with Chain
thingiverse
This is dog waste bag holder with threaded top, featuring a carrying rope hole in the cap. I've included .STL file for printing and .123DX (Autodesk 123D Design) file for remixing. EDIT: Additional files have been added for filled waste bag clip and chain with swivels to connect them together. It's a large print that barely fits on my 5th gen print bed, you may need to split the STL file for smaller beds. Also included are .123dx (Autodesk 123D Design) files for remixing. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 10 Post-Printing: The threads are very tight initially but will loosen up after use. After printing, the threads have burrs and inconsistencies that need to be addressed. Thread the cap one turn at a time, rotating it a few times each time, clearing each turn of threads before tightening further. How I Designed This: I went through trial and error to create this design, mostly error, to learn how to draw threads in 123D Design. This project gave me plenty of practice. Initially, I wanted bags to feed through the top of the holder, through the cap. It worked but the bag spool would bind after pulling one or two bags out. Eventually, I chose a more traditional design with an oval opening in the side. Design iterations from left to right: the first two had disconnected threads, the third was too narrow and had an off-center cap, the fourth was the right size but didn't feed more than 1-2 bags before binding, and the fifth works and has been field-tested with a German Shepherd that poops a lot.
