Human remains of a dog vertebra are found at the Broad Reach site in Carteret County, North Carolina. The location is specifically at the 31CR218 site within the county. Dating places this discovery between Middle to Late Woodland periods and Hanover and White Oak phases from around AD 200-1500. A cervical vertebra from a domestic dog (Canis familiaris) shows severe osteophytes along its articular surface. The bone measures 15.1 mm in width, with a height of 10.1 mm.
