I was searching for a DIY clicker for clicker training cats and discovered that yes, it's definitely possible. While looking for materials, I decided to use the end caps from a crescent rolls package as they're perfect for the job (check out the photos). I placed them ridge-side down on the garage floor, set a cabinet knob on top, and gave it a few whacks with a hammer. The resulting dent creates an excellent clicker that bounces back when pressed. You can use any similar object to create the dent, just make sure it's about one-third the diameter of the cap. I designed the case in TinkerCad and I'll admit that after clearing out the support material, it takes a bit of effort to push the cap into the base, but once it's in place, it's securely held. After removing the raft from the top and doing some light sanding, the top fits snugly too - no glue required. The hole I designed serves as both a lanyard holder and a means to secure the two parts together. On the two units I've built so far, the fit is spot on and nothing else is needed to keep them together. Note: The second clicker I made required some additional filing and sanding since the lid was slightly bent. You may need to do some extra sanding of the inset if the parts don't fit perfectly. Update: I've just uploaded version 2 of the bottom plate, which has a smoother path for the disc, making it easier to insert.
