Relive that warm Saturday fun day playing at the dog park with this vibrant, colorful neighborhood scene laser-cut from foam core. This piece is one of several vignettes designed around Inventor Studio's Lasercut Foamcore Scenes, a simple interlocking geometry system for foam core. Like this scene, but want one with other dogs? Maybe what's missing is a play area for the kids. Design additional elements yourself using the included interlocking base shape and make this scene your own. Teachers might consider using this interlocking system in makerspaces and other project-based learning classroom environments. Post-Printing Lasercutting & Assembly Instructions An SVG file has been included for each color used in this design, and 2 separate cuts for green. Cutting the pieces on your laser should be very easy if you've cut foam core before. Multiple-pass cuts using reduced power are recommended because this reduces foam shrinkage. Some layers in this design involve gluing different colored pieces onto the base part. Look closely at the photo, paying attention to whether the additional pieces are glued in front or behind the base piece. Inexpensive wire and painters tape are used to attach hanging elements of the scene. How I Designed This Designed Using Inkscape & Tinkercad Inventor Studios' Lasercut Foamcore Scenes are designed using Tinkercad and Inkscape. You can either edit the Inkscape SVG files found in this thing directly or import them into Tinkercad to make modifications to this scene, or create wholly new scenes for yourself, for classroom instruction, and to share with others.
