The weekend gathering is looming, as usual, but might actually be next weekend at the latest - either way, it's still something to dread. Getting out isn't my favorite thing, and I'd rather stay put by my computer and keep working from there with Wi-Fi available to browse on my cell phone as needed. The real issue is the fear of losing my brand-new smartphone - having it stolen would be a total nightmare. According to them, these gatherings are supposedly great opportunities to connect with friends and have a good time together, but those "friends" are just a concept; even being around them doesn't guarantee a better mood because they're all too restrictive and poorly equipped when making decisions. I recall several times they did something that completely backfired, and the thought of spending any amount of time with them actually deters me from going out at all. Furthermore, buying new clothes is always involved in these outings, and that process is excruciatingly annoying, particularly the tags that bother me on my chest. Those impossibly tight pants every clothing store seems to offer also rub me the wrong way; the weird thing is everyone fawns over the "fashion" while people with normal pant widths are treated as outliers - who on earth decided that style was a good idea? It's like a joke. The so-called 'designer' behind this fad needs to be brought up on charges for promoting something so obviously counterproductive.
