Dog Business widget
thingiverse
I needed something to identify whether the dog has been feed or taken outside to do his business, because we all leave at different times for work. This is a device which spins and lets you inform other people in the house instead of leaving a paper note. All you need is two 608RS bearings. This was what I had leftover from a previous project. You will need to split the model into parts, and print each individual component separately. No supports required. I made the spinner shaft longer than necessary, but they are easily trimmed with scissors or a dremel to the desired length. To assemble: 1. fit the bearings over the posts on the base 2. put the spinners onto the bearings 3. place the lid over the spinners, test fit the knobs, and trim spinner shaft if desired 4. use small amounts of cyanoacrylate glue to secure the lid to the base (make sure the spinners are inside first) 5. attach the knobs I printed mine in PETG, so it may be necessary to adjust sizes to account for different expansions. I add 0.15mm X/Y expansion to go from PLA to PETG. YMMV
