Dodo Skeleton (Accurate and High Detail)

Dodo Skeleton (Accurate and High Detail)

cults3d

A highly accurate dodo skeleton. This is designed to be printed in 1/6 scale which is about 150mm tall (6in). It is detailed and fully modelled, and was made based mostly on the Oxford dodo with elements of other specimens to produce as complete a skeleton as possible. I mounted this using brass rod and gold aluminium wire with epoxy putty to attach to the pelvis. Superglue (crazyglue) and activator or baking powder was used to stick the small parts to the skeleton or armature. The idea for this came from Adam Savage's TED talk where he discusses the dodo skeleton that he built years ago. I started making the skull of a dodo as a practice piece and ended up creating the whole thing. I made the glass case myself using copper foil and solder.
