The Dodge Viper is a high-performance sports car made by Dodge, which is part of the American company Chrysler LLC. This vehicle has an extremely powerful ten-cylinder engine. The creation and manufacturing process for the two-seat sports car started at the New Mack Assembly in 1991. Then it moved to its current location, the Conner Avenue Assembly, in Detroit, Michigan in October 1995. The Dodge Viper has appeared in numerous TV shows, video games, movies, music, and videos. Dodge built the Viper as a competitor for cars with over 300 HP, such as the Chevrolet Corvette and other American sports cars. History of The Vehicle: The first prototype was tested in January 1989. It was designed to be an historical tribute to the classic American sports car. Although some say that the AC Cobra was an inspiration, this theory is hard to believe since the final version of the Viper is too big and heavy to directly claim connection to the compact Cobra. Carroll Shelby played a significant role in the creation process. Shelby worked with Dodge engineers to design a vehicle as unique as it was radical. Many of its design elements came from the Ford Shelby Cobra Daytona, but only slight improvements were made over time. The original Viper had the name RT / 10 and included a 7.9-liter engine with an innovative fiber body. Later on, another model known as GTS Coupà would make its appearance in Detroit. This vehicle exceeded all previous versions by adding 50 more horsepower and releasing features such as passenger airbags. Years later, after a phase of testing the prototype in August of 1993, this vehicle reached its production with impressive results. The next Viper came into being with improved speed, more powerful engines and aerodynamic adjustments to improve overall performance on tracks worldwide. The passage into the 21st century marked significant improvements for the Dodge Viper's ten-cylinder engine. A brand new model, SRT10 (Street and Racing Technologies), came onto the scene. It boasted increased displacement reaching up to eight liters in volume with over 500 HP and nearly 73 mkg of torque. Its ultimate performance level culminated with a speed exceeding three hundred kilometers per hour. However, all good things must come to an end and after producing numerous limited edition cars since then, its final stop was in 2010 with the Dodge Viper SRT10 Final Edition.
